Our Approach

We developed an innovative and entrepreneurial missions approach in 1996 that proves to be highly effective, has a significant multiplying outcome, and is very sustainable by indigenous churches.

We work with groups of churches in 49 countries throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America to train and equip people in these areas to be disciples. Each group of indigenous churches with which we partner commits at least 51% toward its discipleship-mission program’s cost in the first year, at least 70% in the second year, and at least 85% in the third year, with the local program being fully sustainable by the start of the fourth year. In addition to supporting its own program, the church cluster contributes a minimum of 2% of its total training budget to help Global Disciples start and mentor new programs throughout the region. This disciplined giving and active partnership in multiplying new programs continues even after Global Disciples stops funding the church’s program.

It works well because they are best able to reach – and impact – people in their communities. 92% of all discipleship-mission programs started are continuing today as locally sustainable, reproducible training and sending ministries. Global Disciples’ impact has been great and lives transformed by Jesus have multiplied significantly.
