This week’s Global Story invites you to experience our stories for yourself…

Welcome to “The Global Story,” a weekly glimpse into how God is at work through the global Body of Christ. This is Galen from Global Disciples.

As you hear these stories each week, have you ever wanted a taste, a touch, a more personal hands-on experience? Well, now is the time to experience our Global stories in a new way. With me this morning is Kimberly, our Events Coordinator with Global Disciples. Kimberly, tell us about this new event.

Kimberly:    Well, Galen, it’s our GoGlobal 1Day Celebration! We’re hosting an evening of stories, food, activities for all ages. It’ll be next Friday, September 7, at Landis Hall at the WJTL Junction Center. Doors open at 5 pm, and registration is free. We want to give you an opportunity to come out and use your hands, feet, eyes and ears to learn more about reaching least-reached people and experience what God is doing around the world.

Galen:          What can our friends expect when they come to the Celebration?

Kimberly:    You’ll get a passport for the evening, and then you travel from station to station, learning more about people, customs, the countries you’re reaching through your Global support. There’s story-telling, Galen, and plenty of hands-on activities for kids of all ages. We’ll have food from three continents for you to taste and enjoy – that’s provided by our friends, Upohar. And of course, Stroopie station too, from Lancaster Sweet Shoppe will be represented. And our special guests, Piercing Word, will be performing.

Galen:          Sounds great. I’m looking forward to the part of story-telling! And to introducing families – parents and kids and students and grandparents, everyone – to what they can do as they get involved in reaching least-reached people around the world.

Kimberly:   Yes, we’re celebrating what God is doing, and how His people can be engaged with Him. Again, it’s Friday, September 7, from 5 to 9 PM, at the Junction Center.

Galen:          Thanks, Kimberly. And remember, registration is free at Go Global 1 We’ve talked about GoGlobal all summer—I hope you’ll celebrate with us on September 7th, as you do your part to reach those people who are least-reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
