A Business Plan for Training Others
Eyan attended a small business training in a highly-restricted South Asian country. She is married to Ajit, and together, they are influential leaders in a significant church movement within their nation.
They’re also focused on presenting the Good News of Jesus to their Muslim neighbors. Eyan conducts a study with over 80 women, leading them to Jesus and getting them into the Gospels.
She’s also a skilled seamstress. During the Global Disciples Small Business Development training, she created a plan to train other women as seamstresses—a skill that can provide a good income for women, especially in poor communities.
However, Eyan’s vision is for more than passing along tailoring skills. Her business plan is designed to train the women as disciple-makers who will “train on” new believers and plant churches. As they learn tailoring, they also learn how to develop disciple-makers and equip potential church planters. Eyan built church multiplication into her business plan!
When it was time to present this plan, Ajit accompanied her because in their culture a husband normally speaks on his wife’s behalf. Although he created his own business plan, Ajit set it aside to support his wife’s plan. He happily acknowledged she has the opportunity to reach women with the Good News of Jesus in a way he can’t as a man. And he believes it’s important because so few women in their culture have opportunity to hear the Gospel.
Eyan’s desire is to train women as disciples of Jesus—she’s ready to do what it takes to carry out this God-given vision. And she’s blessed with a husband who shares and supports her vision!
