Global Disciples has three core ministry objectives: we train disciple-makers, we make disciples, and we plant new churches. I want to consider the first of these objectives—training disciple-makers.

In Matthew 9:36-38, we have the story of Jesus looking at the crowds of people coming to Him. He was moved with deep compassion for them. This is how Jesus looks at the 2.7 billion people who have never had an opportunity to hear about Him in a way they can understand and choose to follow Him.

Jesus then turns to His disciples and declares there are two problems to solve. The first is that the spiritual harvest is so vast. The second is that there are not enough workers to reap the harvest.

But Jesus always has an answer to any problem we face, and He provides it in verse 38: Pray to the Father. Ask the Father to send out more workers to this vast harvest. This is where you and I and Global Disciples can do our part. With your help, we can train over 40,000 disciple-makers.

Global Disciples prays for and then trains near-culture workers to become disciple-makers. As we train more workers, this results in more and more new believers. These new disciples gather together to form new churches among the least-reached peoples of the world. This is Jesus’ model.

Did you know the cost of training a disciple-maker through Global Disciples runs about $250? Once trained, this disciple-maker/church planter has the potential of making hundreds of new disciples and planting many churches. This happens every day of the year!

This past year, our partner programs reported equipping more than 31,000 disciple-makers. What if we can do more? Training 40,000 workers would mean $250 x 40,000 gifts—for a total of ten million dollars.

Ambitious, yes, but possible. And the Kingdom impact of those $250 investments would be amazing. Please join us in supporting this harvest work.
